Increased Useable
Net Floor Area

The TENCOR approach builds security into every individual cell and security space, as opposed to the external structure. This provides significant savings in construction costs.  Areas enclosed with 3" security panels take up to 15% less space for the same net floor area, leading to savings in operating and maintenance costs. At the same time, security levels can be as much as 10 times higher than that of the most secure masonry walls.

Increased useable net floor area results from each wall occupying less gross floor space. This presents two options;
more cells can be contained within a given floor area; or the same number of cells can be contained within a smaller building area than would be possible with conventional construction.

Smaller gross floor area results in:

reduced mechanical operating costs

less floor area to supervise

reduced quantity of finishes

smaller building volume

shorter patrol distances

reduced foundation size
